Description
Kenny Civils & Plant Ltd were appointed main contractor and project supervisor for construction stage (PSCS) for the Borrisokane Surface Water Drainage Scheme. The main elements of this contract included included:
- Construction of approximately 450 metres of 225mm Ø plastic corrigated surface water drain pipe ranging from 225mm to 300mm in Diameter;
- Construction of approximately 650m of precast concrete surface water drain ranging in size from 450mm Diameter to 1050mm Diameter;
- Construction and installation of Headwall and in-line non-return value at outfall location;
- Installation of a large Hydrocarbon Interceptor;
- Construction of 27 No. precast concrete manholes with concrete surround;
- Construction of 1 No. in-situ overflow manhole/chamber;
- Modification of 2 No. existing manholes;
- Installation and connection of 56 No. trapped surface water gullies;
- Disconnection and reconnection of 16 No. existing gullies;
- Decommission and removal of approximately 185m of 300mm Ø existing surface water drain;
- Decommission and removal of approximately 34m of 450mm Ø existing foul sewer;
- Decommission, removal and replacement of approximately 18m of 150mm Ø AC existing foul rising main at the town park
- Decommissioning and removal of approximately 30m of existing foul overflow from the pumping station to the Ballyfinboy River, and replacement with a 15m length of 300mm diameter overflow to the river with a non-return valve.
- Temporary and Permanent Road Reinstatement;
- Site finishing
- All works carried out in an urban environment.
- Majority of Works carried out on the N65 National Primary Road with AADT of over 5000 Vehicles.
- Excavation of approximately 2,000 m3 of Rock in Trenches up to 4 metres deep in an urban environment.
- Structural Surveys of all properties within 20 metres of the works.
